Eucharist Resumes on Sunday, September 13

It is with great joy that I share with you that St. Stephen’s will resume offering Eucharist (communion) once a month beginning on September 13. We will be taking every precaution to keep people safe and prevent the spread of COVID19. For this reason, and following the guidelines of the Diocese of Colorado, we will only offer communion in one kind (bread).

You can receive communion in one of three ways:

1) Attend worship. Communion will be consecrated without direct contact and distributed by clergy, who will move through the church (rather than having people come forward).

2) You can participate in the worship via zoom and then come by the church to receive communion in a “drive-by” fashion immediately after the worship. Clergy will meet you in front of the church and give you communion in your car.

3) We can bring communion to you. Eucharistic visitors can meet with you outside or at your doorway for a very brief prayer and distribution of communion.

As always you will need to wear a mask and maintain social distancing as much as possible. Of course, it will be difficult to receive communion with a mask on. We are asking that you keep your mask on as communion is handed to you, and then remove your mask to receive communion once the person distributing communion is at a safe distance from you. Then, put your mask back on.

If you wish to receive communion, please click here to register for the option of your preference.

The 8:00 service will not be offered after September 13. However, both services that day will offer the Holy Eucharist. After September 13, we will continue offering communion on the second Sunday of each month through the end of the year (October 11, November 8 and December 13). Then we will reevaluate our plan and adjust accordingly. We are so grateful to be able to share the blessing of Eucharist during this season of blessing. If you have any questions, difficulty in registering, or wish to receive communion but none of the options work for you, please click here to let me know.

Blessings, The Rev. Kate Bradsen
